Still trying to get my head round tides, obviously i know the difference between high, low, neap and spring (just about haha)

What’s in you honest opinion is the best tide to fish?

Would you fish 2 up 2 down?

What would be the perfect conditions for you to go and fish?

Me, i just go fish and hope for the best!
But I’m moving away from the coast in the next month and am looking at understanding tides, conditions etc so when i do get down to chuck a lure out i’ve picked the best conditions possible!

Thanks for your advice/thoughts.

2 down and 3 up for me BUT all depends about the spot
on another beach section it's only 3 1/2 - 4 down , problem is sand suspended in water
slack water can be good too : give it a try (near structure is best)

you have to find the right time on your spots : go for 6 up and 6 down , test it 3-4 times to be "sure"
don't spend too much time on different spots , choose 1 or 2 and stick with it until you catch them , when you found the "pattern" , fish there to catch some and then MOVE to new ground to ad another spot in your bag

As said above you've got to learn each mark for yourself unless you can get reliable info from others that have built up experience on that particular mark. Things can and will change with tides, conditions and seasons. No real hard and fast rules as there are often exceptions, as in any form of angling. No real shortcuts unless you get a leg up. I was told by old timers that it was a total waste of time lure fishing many of my local bait marks because the water was usually coloured. I have learned that is just not true - just had to get the conditions and tides right and use the right lures in the right ways when the bass where there - not an easy learning curve but very satisfying when it did all piecd together. Likewise Ive gone down a few rabbit holes trying to make lures that others swear by for other aress to work on my patches.
Go as often as you can, experiment and keep detailed notes is my best advice for putting together a general pattern for your spots👍

As above, if you're away from the coast, you really need to be focused on when you fish. Pick a mark, learn it well, take notes of conditions and what you used, and what you caught on. I'd advise using a patch 100 and Seekers a lot to begin with so that you know when there are fish around. When you've found patterns, then concentrate on catching fish.
In terms of tides, they really are complicated. For me, it's certain tide sizes that work, not whether it's a spring or neap. I get to certain spots on my mark at exact stages of the tide. 10 minutes wrong each way and you miss the fish...
Oh, and fish in the dark

I fish on Adriatic coast and what I found different than here said, at my spots slack water especially in early winter is the best time for biggest ones.

Generally periods which works here best are first and last hour of spring tide.

The main difference between Adriatic sea and Atlantic is that Adriatic have lower high tides with only around 40cm and on Atlantic you have more than meter. Also, Adriatic sea is calm sea and on my surf I rarely have waves with more than 30 cm height. Clear calm sea reduce productive days and you need to be very lucid, but after some years, some people find their winning solutions.

I cannot imagine joy of fishing in high current and turbulent water as you can in the UK. On Adriatic it is more or less all finesse.

Sergei, pardon me, but I didn't understand what you said about productive time frame of yours.

You said: "2 down and 3 up for me BUT all depends about the spot
on another beach section it's only 3 1/2 - 4 down".

Which hours on spring or neap tides are the best at your spots? I am interested to understand other people circumstances. Thank you.😀
