Hi Guys,

Have any of you looked at tides4fishing.com - how useful is it?

I am thinking of going with a friend to take a boat out in Norfolk this weekend. Due to a stupid wedding i can either go on Friday or Monday.

For the friday it predicts that there 'wont be many fish' on the monday it thinks it will be amazing.

Should i listen to this website - is it all

Cheers,

James

It's been discussed a number of times on here.....you could do a search. Remember, even if you accept the solar lunar theory, that there are other factors not accounted for in their assessment. Such as wind direction, using the right bait.

Useful for checking the tides etc, and useful if you choose to believe in the solunar aspect of fish biting when the solunar cycle predicts they will .... personally, I think its a load of ball cocks ! Although others will disagree.

hang a pair of grannies drawers filled with seaweed on the shed door, check it out at midnight,''if they are wet the fish'l bite i bet,'' if they are dry the buggers will be sly '' ,trust me it never fails, that has been handed down through generations of Irish Arapaho indians.

Wouldnt use it to predict when fish will feed, or if at all, but I do use it sometimes for Tide Times....i tend to use National Tidal and Sea Level Facility as i live in pompey and it has portsmouth on there, best Ive found so far

Tides4fishing carries advertising, and I suspect that the basic objective of the site is to make money. The fishing information on the site may or may not be right but its primary purpose is probably "bait".

:g: so....if a site carries advertising, it's not primarily about what it claims, but is there to bait customers.....

...and what about the adverts on here? Are they also to 'bait'?

Often sites carry adverts to pay for the hosting, rather than making it subscription

Both my grannies have passed, but would like to try this theory, has anyone got a spare pair that I could use ?

So it is crap? Why? Science has proven that fish feed during certain conditions/times. Alas, most think that when these conditions are prevalent you will/should catch fish - no? Maybe, as always, you possibly are not in the right region where fish are feeding? Why ? Hmmmm.

In my humble opinion, lobbing a weight with bait is no guarantee that you'll catch based on the solunar effect. Knowing where they are feeding is the magic. When someone discovers how this works let me know as I'm buggered if I understand. :)

I apped it onto the mobbie and did a blind test, fishing was poor on the poor days but conditions weren't clever either small swell cold, schoolies, fished a biting day and caught fk all, if I'd planned based on that app I'd have caught sum total of nowt. APP DELETED.
