Caught this little 'un yesterday off Trevose Head. Was told it was a TomPot Blennie........... but know I'm not so sure.:unsure:

It had 2 feelers on front underside , but I don't recall seeing the 2 on it's head.

Sorry it's not a better picture. Positive ID welcomed.:notworthy

Hiya,

As you say it's not the best of pic's to ID a Blenny from, but going by the hight of the dorsal it looks more likely to have been a Tompot rather than a Shanny.

one way to identify a tompot blenny as it's nickname is the dennis healy fish,because it looks like it's got eyebrows.I will be looking to catch one of these on friday in the poole 4 man team comp.

when out of the water the tentacles over the eye retract leaving just a couple of lumps..... wet the head or hold it in a bucket of water and they will reappear if it is a tompot.
