Hi guys
Just wondering if there is anywhere in the area that you can catch tope from the shore?
Know it might sound a bit daft but I know that in some areas of Scotland its possible.
Are there any/many tope in the area for that matter?
And if they can only be taken from a boat, can anyone recommend a good one for me please?
Bonus point if you can give me aprox price too.

never heard of tope this side. if you have carl please let me know. i think they are mainly on the west coast.

The Holderness is the nearest area where tope can be caught from the shore but they are not common. Boat fishing just offshore you stand a very good chance.

Tope are caught all the way up the east coast up to the Holderness coast and possibly slightly further north when boat fishing. There are plenty taken boat fishing off the Holderness although last year was not one of the best.

I think there was one small one reported from the shore last year. The best shore caught tope from the Holderness was one of 46lb caught many years ago but fish have been taken fairly recently to over 30lb.
