Decided to make the most of the decent weather and take my young son for another spot of float-fishing
in order to catch a few fish and keep his interest up.

Called in at Gareth's in Menai Bridge first to pick up some bait and whilst there bought a 9ft spinning rod
at a decent price so that the youngster could handle it a bit easier than my carp/bass rods.

Headed for Rhoscolyn to start with but unfortunately so did every man and his canoe and we ended up grid-locked
for 30mins just trying to get into the car park. Amazing what a bit of sunny weather does for the local tourist economy!
Eventually gave up trying to park and headed off to Trearddur, which was almost as busy but with plenty more parking spaces.

Parked up at the end of Ravenspoint Road, just before the caravan parks, and walked straightdown to the rocks here.

We were soon into plenty of small wrasse and pollack on the float gear, mostly on ragworm...

The only fish of any note was this strap of about 6lb that took an Ammo mackerel head fished straight down the side of the rocks...

Eventually packed up suffering from too much :sun: !!!

Not a bad day overall and the youngster is keen to go again soon, which is what it's all about.

Well Done and a nice report.
Good to see the young one getting some fish and enjoying the day.
