If you are information about squid fishing then I can help you. Squid fishing is usually done with squid jigs. These are mostly manufacturered in japan and china. there might be UK makers also.

the squid thinks the squid jig is a small fish and grabs hold of it ...but it is then impaled by the ring of spikes at the rear of the hook (also called an umbrella hook).

Not heard of trotlines for crab in the UK, try sites that cover Cheapeake Bay where they use that method. In the UK, we use crab pots (traps), I've also seen crab snares which look interesting but I have yet to try one.
