Fished Turbot bank yesterday for a few hours both at anchor and on the drift - very slow action with only small dabs, small plaice and small gurnard shared between 9 rods. Baits were fresh mackie caught on the way out ( sheep island) razor, rag, sandeel, squid and prawn= we should have had a barbie and ate the bait !!
Then went across to the Knoll bank and sat without a single bite between us for an hour or so.
Finally drifted with hokkais etc around the islands and had mackeral, pollack, wrasse and coalfish, but nothing over 2.5 pounds.

Fishing poor but a lovely day out, good skipper/s and good crack with the boys plus fresh mackeral for tea.
Looking forward to the next trip.:boat:
