Me and mickey went to atherfield again for some better luck :-/
We got onto the beach about half 5 and started with a bit of feathering but nothing showed.
Mickeys first cast with worm resulted in a welcome little turbot...

Then i noticed a little flutter on mine and reeled in one a little bigger....

Then half hour later i had another small one

Things were good until it got dark and the moon popped up. That with the easterly wind just killed it! :-/
Mick did loose what looked to be a ray on the shoreline. It was hooked on a scratching rig and just threw the hook.....unlucky mate.
All turbo`s were caught on mackerel.

Nice to see a few turbot showing, I had a couple last year from Sandown pier on float gear. Looking forward to the mackeral showing on the nack of the island though, plan on getting down there with my dexter wedge and catching a few for the bbq.

nice 1 m8. did not no you new mike i work with him nice guy i fish up the pire last nite had 4 hounds from 4-6lb and 2 dogfish

Yeah, got to give it a bash mate. It sure was nice to have the beach to ourselves. Just a pity the fish were not very big.
