Hi Big D , I Caught My Gunard in Loch Etive U catch them alot there from the shore they can be a pest . ive also had quite a few out from Girvan on the boat (Grey & Red Gunard) but its been a few years since i fished from Girvan.
I have been told the Tope fishing is good around isle of whithorn i heard there was one caught in Loch Fyne last year ( my stomping ground ) if anyone can confirm it that would be cool :) i dont think we get them this far up in scotland.

Agree with Bmac, loads of gurnards in Etive. My dads had them on the slipway at Taynuilt before.
Bmac, remember the two Gurnards you caught off the slipway a few years back? One was Grey and the other was coloured red? I had a chat with Davy Holt about that, turns out they were most likely both Grey Gurnards. Apparently Red gurnards are very rare in Sea Lochs. As for Tope in Loch Fyne :D , I wouldnt mind targeting them. Could be in for a bit of a wait though.
