Great day out yesterday on unity but at 12hrs very tiring,But Hey with the glorious weather(first trip in ages when it was"nt raining or windy)who cares if it was knackering. We sailed at 07.30 from barry over to devon for our intended prey the tope.Started off on the drift, for the mackeral and pollack bait "intended" for those supercharged horses of the sea.Using plain or baited feathers we soon had enough for our quarry,While on the drift i picked up a nice red gurnard 1st of the year for me.Also taken on feathers that day was a small commonhound,Great fun on very light tackle. We made our way out at slack water for the tope,And using the whole fresh mackeral as bait we soon etched out our quarry,Anyway the total was 8 tope to 45lb,Species of fish taken on the day were-
Tope
pollack
mackeral
black bream
starryhound
commonhound
bullhuss
pouting
dogfish
red gurnard
