Having recently come back to fishing after a 30-year break, I am keen to update myself on the best marks in the Carrick Roads. I fish both from the shore and (on a calm day) in a Canadian canoe (so can't go too far off shore). If in the canoe, I normally launch Loe Beach, which I am aware is good for mackerel on an evening high tide. In particular any good bass marks would be appreciated along with favoured baits, rigs, tides and times.
From the shore, I picked up a nice wrasse from nr St Anthony head, also had a small schoolie from St Just Pool the other week, but had to give it its freedom as it was way undersize.
