Hi . I am a big fan of the abu 6500 rocket . And have taken a year off fishing . But starting back this summer . I was looking through eBay and came across the revo range.
which the Americans use for plugging large mouth bass ect.
And for around 200.00 . You can buy a descent reel. And am wondering if the can be used for beach casting in the UK . Will they take a 180g lead . Or am I better off with the 6500 rocket . Any help appreciated . Thanks guys tight lines

They are not designed for beach work other than plugging, when you look at the spindle on the spool, it is a lot thinner, also the frame is CRFP, stick to the 6500 range and you will be OK.

I like the revos, but I don't think they are up to beach casting. There is a massive difference in casting a 150g lure and casting a 150g lead. The biggest difference would be the type of rod and distances involved.
