I have heard its 4 or 5 from south west, west.

if thats the case should br ok at penarth, porthkerry faces south east so should offer some protection behind cliffs, may try lime kilns it has high cliffs behind it

if its purely west, apart from penarth as u mention, i cant think of anywhere else

Oxwich Bay. I've fished there quite often when it's howling South Westerly elswhere. The headland protects you no end. Fishing below the Church on a Neap (like now) gives you a wind free and comfortable platform for fishing. (You may have to clean up the **** left by other 'Sportsmen' first). Fishing straight out from here across the bay onto sand. Only prob there is the car-park. Don't get locked in!!!

The wind is really picking up now, will probably be either porthkery or jacksons bay low water, fished it at high before, always a first time, or other side of bendricks rock
