I am just about to purchase my first pair of breathables, but am trying to get my head around boots. My preference is a rubber / vibram sole which i suspect will be studded. Now the question is what are differnces between wader boots and lightwieght walking boots?

i gave up using purpose made wader boots.if you are an occasional angler and spend around ten hours or less on the rocks per week,or fish clean ground they will last a decent amount of time.if on rocks regularly they wear out in no time,no matter if they cost 30 quid or 150 quid.either well made walking boots,or standard steel/plastic toe capped safety boots last far better and are far cheaper to replace, you can add studs if required.
cheers rab
