Drive along the main front at Dinas, and head along the long straight road towards the airport...at the end of the road you come to a sharp right bend, you need to turn left here, then turn immediately right, which puts you in front of a gate marked "private land"...open the gate and drive through, making sure you close it behind you.Follow the track for 1/2 mile then you come to a cattle grid..park up on the grass on the left just after the grid. There is no problem with anglers fishing this mark so long as they act responsibly,by not blocking the road/leaving litter/lighting fires on the beach....sadly this happens at least once every summer and the gate gets locked for a couple of weeks,so please show some respect.
Go over the gate on the left and walk along the well worn path for 200 yds, then if you look in the 10 o`clock direction, you will see a post sticking up from the sand dunes...this marks the centre of the deep channel which produces the bass...you will be able to pick out another path leading across the field and to the post, but failing that,if you get on the beach you will see 2 stoney graves on the top of the shingle bank...the post is 60yds to the left of the graves.
Tides need to be 28.5ft+...flat calm conditions always produce best...plenty of blow lug is needed,as it`s a killer bait, far superior to anything else....a 40 yd lob is all thats needed to reach the channel ......weed can often be a problem, which is why i only start fishing from around 1 hour before high...you`re usually into fish pretty soon, and they continue to feed until 2 1/2 hours after high.....it must be fished during darkness.
