HI Mate.
have taken and returned nemurious wrasse over the years on mostly hard crab baits on the pembrook rock marks very close in to the rocks ballen and cucko to 5lbs or less and mostly taken 15 min before high tide and they stop feeding at high water i presume its because of the waves hitting the rock marks?
here's a link for you to read from wsf :http://www.worldseafishing.com/shore/ballan_wrasse.shtml

A good mark is St. Justinians, walk along the cliff path to the right, and there is a ledge straight into deep water. Last summer had Pollock on Dexters, strap conger, 4 1/2 wrasse on the ledger, dozens of wrasse on the float, loads of Mackerel on feather, the odd woofer and something really f'in big that slammed the rod in the rocks!!!! (the one that got away)

Average catch 20 - 30 fish on the day, great fun

never tried there at st justinians, only from the lifeboat slipway where tackle loss was heavy.

my favourite marks are porth clais, caerfai and solva. hopefully there will be some cracking action this year again. some cracking pollack last year including a 9 lb'er on a rapala.

lemme know if you fancy a trip
