I used to fish along by the casino, always flounder to be had and I’d be surprised if you didn’t bag up on whiting.

He asked about Westcliff, not where’s better!
I wouldn’t bother myself there are plenty of better places but it is easy access, fairly clean and easy to find.
Yeah i have heard it Not to be the best. As u say it was easy for him to travel there but I drive so and I'm open to new venues . :D

Life ain’t black n white there’s plenty off easy access marks ect about its may just be lack off knowledge of his friend n would gladly take advice so I don’t know why you needed to point out what he’s asked I would of thought it’d be an easy assumption that if I can write a reply I can read the post in the first place

For info, I was walking with 'er indoors along the sea front yesterday evening just before dark, always half listening to her but looking into the water, which was flat calm & remarkably clear (HW) I saw 2 fish, probably Bass, just west of the Casino. One almost beached itself and turned at the last second, exposing bright silver flank nearly 2ft long. The other 1 came clear out of the water, about 15ft out but I didn't see it until it made a big splash on re-entry, probably Bass or Mullet.
Not a fishing report but nice to see & reminded me to get my rods out again..

At the very least I would walk/drive a couple of miles to the slightly deeper water of Thorpe Bay.

The local rag catch reports used to mention catches of Codling at winter which I assumed was the odd six inch fish in amongst the whiting.

Are you suggesting that the media would exaggerate the fish caught? Go and hang your head in shame!
