I placed an order for some fresh black lug ready for the weekend. I've never mail ordered bait before.
Is 'fresh' lug supposed to mean, 'alive' ?

I've received 50 dead worm which are all pretty bashed/squished.
Probably would have been better just getting them frozen but I thought fresh would be better

Were they blacks as they will generally be gutted. Gutted blacks often look dead but will tense up if you throw them on the ground. Post some pictures of what you got.

Fresh is generally better than frozen, though you can get crap blacks the same as anything. A lot of people call them liquorish sticks because they are black and gooey and leave a lot of black on your hands. Good bait if they are in good nick.
