Hi there!

I am soon moving to edinburgh and wondered what the hotspots are for shore and pier fishing in the neighbourhood.

any suggestions?

Lots of so called 'HOT SPOTS' about. If its cod your after go over the bridge to Buckhaven and fish any place from there to Arbroath. Big area i know but any place on the east coast up that way is good for cod, just look for the rocks and fish about them. If its beach fishing you like then try the south side of the river from Port Seaton to Dunbar. (Dunbar can produce good cod aswell). If its pier fishing you want then the best place is Anstruther pier (an hour north of edinburgh), good codling and flatfish to be had there.

cod - buchaven - aberdeen area cod up and down
pier fishing - ansthruther , crail , st.andrews
you can try eastury fishing
the forth , the tay.
i can give you advice on the tay
