I need a new winch for my trailer, but there are no markings on the old winch saying what the Breaking Capacity is, so thought I would ask here.

I need a trailer winch that can pull an 18ft Shetland 535 that has a dead weight of about 1300lbs

Nip over to Trailertek in Micheldever, not far from you, they will have plenty to show you and can advise. www.trailertek.com The above one is powder coated, galvanised would be better if you leave the trailer near the sea.

Thanks Nev, was going down to Towsure in Soton, but Trailertek are closer and have better prices, so I will get a few other bits while i'm over there.

Dutton and laton 2500 twin speed will last you a life time and you can change it from trailer to trailer as you change your boat.
