Dear all,

A curious post this one? But are you nice chaps on the welsh side of the Bristol Channel still catching whiting? Am looking from Bridgend up to Redwick? The reson being I fish the english side at Brean and we are still catching them?

They seem to be staying longer and longer. Dozens at Mwnt back in May, all small. Must be occupying some vacant slot in the ecosystem. Good bass-food if we can ever get the stocks of the bigger fish to rebuild!

I seen a few whittys getting caught in ilfracome on friday night, quite small but i had a chat with the guy catching them and he said you get loads untill the summer realy warms the sea up. on the way back to swansea i fished some gower rock marks the water is 14oc on our side, i think its the differance in sea temp that makes them go over to the english side
