When the winds in the east the fish bite least?
When the winds in the west fish bite the best?
Honest opinion is there any truth in these old sayings?

Old sayings eh?...Well if one of them was true then i would have been blind by the age of 15!!...:)..

When the winds in the North the fish come forth.
When the winds in the South the fish open their mouth...
How about that for made up crap??!!

Hi ,

imho it depends on the beach aspect and the fish i'm targetting : i generaly prefer onshore winds force 3 or 4 that generates nice waves ; not that i so much like the wind blowing right in my face but that's when i had my best results ... except for sole that likes calmer seas .

depends on the location. it is about right for us. west or south west are often most productive. easterly kills the fishing most of the time. westerly are on shore winds and easterly off shore us being on the west coast of cumbria. i would guess on the east coast the opposite would be true. easterly best westerly not so much.
