I've never fished in Winter as I mainly fish for trout during the March-October season.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me areas around the West coast (no specific mark just a general area) that I could try in the colder months out-with the trout season and what species there is to be caught at this time.

If you pick an area you would like to fish then use the search facility on here there are loads of reports with information about marks all over the west of Scotland. Lots of guys will be moving away from the west coast and heading east at this time of the year to try for cod. Hope that helps a little.
