Off to Woolacombe on Friday, arriving at around 8-9pm staying for 2 nights at twitchen, I think low tide is around 10pm.

Is it worth fishing from the beach yet? or should I take the rock gear and head for the point?

Any local advice much appreciated.

Will be taking -

2-4oz bass rod with a small abu multi -12lb line

6oz pendulum rod - abu 6500ct-15lb

Imax 6 stroke 7 rock rod - penn 535-30lb line

Sandeel, crab, mackerel and squid.

Thanx in advance

I think the beaches are producing a little, Lee ... I've heard of a couple of bass "around 3lbs" from the stream across Woolacombe beach, and a few small smalleyeds from the other end, but haven't been tempted back there yet.
There are plenty of dogs and a few straps off the rocky marks — including one shore-caught 33lber not long ago (conger, not dog!) — but nothing special up there either. Better than it was this time last year, at least.
