Alrighty Peeps

Well as it has been for the last 3 weeks it has rained on my day off which incidentaly is SeaSmiths day off which coincidently is our weekly fishy day hence the WWWWWW = Wet Wednesday Without Wimmen Weans Work.

Anyways headed up to Ballachiulish arriving at low tide (bloody hundreds of mussels to be had when’s the best month for taking them for the pot)
Got the big rods set up and cast out ,available bait was mackie and ragworm left them to soak. I set up a wee float and Scott set up a spinner hoping for some big Pollock which Embermans wife always seems to catch.

Well to cut a long story short was quite a productive session with the float being the most successful tactics out catching the spinner and the big rods.

Species caught today were Codling 18 ,Pollock 3,Sea Trout 4,Lsd`s 3 and a solitary SSSS.

Scott had the biggest fish which was a 1lb 4oz codling followed by myself with a 1lb 2oz sea trout all fish were sent on their way with the exception of a few wee ones that didn`t make it which fed the gulls and a wee Pollock which I caught which something decided to have a chew on!!!!!

Heres the Pics...

On Arrival.

Paul

I'm heading up to Port Appin this weekend so I'm planning a session in Ballachulish tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a decent session and it's good to read a few successful reports from that neck of the woods. A few codling, pollock and ling wouldn't go amiss!

Just out of interest does anyone know the mackerel situation up there at the moment? I've got frozen/defrosted/refrozen mackerel and sandeel as bait which is going to be like mush. I'll need some fresh bait that won't fly off on the cast. It might be worth hunting for some peeler crab at low tide if I can find any.

No Mackies for us at all and Scott was spinning and feathering for a good bit
