In every adventure we have a plan , two days prior to launch we finalise our route and check on the weather . We went west this time trying near Oban . It was a drizzly morning to start with .

The wind was moderate at that time , low tide and fast drift made it impossible to lure fish for pollock . We still had to catch some fresh bait .

The silvery tinsel did the trick right off the bottom . From six hooks I went down to four after the first cast .
Fishing was steady , the zip bag was filling up nicely and I even managed a woopa !

Catching the bigger species did not materialise somehow , we had fresh bait and strong tackle ready . Paddling back against strong wind was fun , we nearly had a race , the troops are getting fitter and faster . Mackerel fishing was good with no tiddlers this year . And the bait box full .
