Excuse me Leon on reading the link you provided can you explain why the group or what ever it is, is called the "North Yorkshire and Cleveland Coastal Forum" when Cleveland doesn't even exist, as the county was abolished around 1995. Reason I'm wanting an explanation is the fact that you/group on the forum are representing the anglers on this coast and you cant even get the area that's covered correct.

You could try emailing them to ask.

I've asked on an open forum Leon and I'd like an answer on the open forum as I certainly won't be the only one who knows that Cleveland doesn't exist as it was abolished, the only local council that is allowed to use Cleveland in its name is Redcar & Cleveland Council (and even that name is incorrect, but that doesn't apply here)

" The forum represents stakeholders along the coast between Teesside and the East Riding of Yorkshire, and has more than 100 members "

To quote the article.....

Think they need to rethink this groups name as its obviously confused with its self.

It never fails to surprise me how many of these Groups, Forums, Organisations or Government Agency's appear to be having so much say on whats going on, yet to this day I have never seen 1 single public notice put up in any tackle shop, posted on a Pier or in either the Northen Echo, Evening Gazette or Herald and Post local papers here on Teesside.

The North East does not only consist of Scarbrough, Whitby and Newcastle..

It's also quite amusing that while there are folk saying that Cleveland is no more,(and rightly so),and whilst saying these groups should change their names to the effect,I wonder..........

Just how many people have logged on,clicked to come onto the NE forum, and NOT LOOKED AT THE AREAS IT COVERS..........

At the end of the day,it doesn't matter what they are called, does it?........

Sorry Jem, naught to do with me.

In fact the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Coastal Forum, whilst it will undoubtedly have a huge influence on the way that the coast is likely to be managed (access, Marine Conservation Zones etc), and is likely to impact on the activities of sea anglers, it doesn't appear to have any sea angler representation at all (although the Salmon and Trout anglers are on board. Oh! and the North Eastern Sea Fisheries Committee).

see: http://www.coastalforum.org.uk/members.html

Could be worth keeping an eye on when you consider some of the organisations that are involved, some of the consultations that they are involved in, and the strategy for the coastal area that they are developing etc.

Considering how closely The Angling Trust, and others, are working with Natural England regarding the MCZ's i find this hard to believe.
