Hi Guys,

I bought a Zodiac Futura last year. I have a fishfinder but when using it last year it was a bit hit and miss. Its transducer is mounted on the rear transom rhs. Will the cavitation from the outboard be the cause of the problem ?

It only seemed to work when stationary or moving very slowly.

whats the best place to mount it ?

Cheers lads

More likely to be turbulence from the hull. Make sure the transducer is in clean water flow and not behind a rib or something that will cause bubbles to flow past the transducer.

What I generally recommend with GRP hulls is to try it inside to find the position before drilling any holes :)

Hi ZAGMAN,

Good to hear from a fellow Futura owner. Top boat!

When you say you've mounted your transducer on the rh side, is it behind one of the speed tubes?

PS. Did you catch your 65lb Conger off of the Zodiac? ;)
