Has the Pier been taken over by the EU feather chucking squad or is it still a worthwhile walk? Was thinking of a midweek trip, see if I can hook a hound or 2.

Well put it this way - the sun is out and some p1$$ taker has been posting pictures of mackeral all over facebook for the past week!

So what do you think is going on at the addy?;)

If you value your life, you will take a tin hat with you !!

I have said it before and will say it again, in the warm weather most people on the Addy have no comprehension of what a shock leader is for ( we all know who I am talking about) and someone, one day is going to lose there life because of it.:mad:

Rob
yes your 100% right and I have seen a few hooks in peoples heads in the past so
it will only be a matter of time when a 60z weight will hit some one on the head,
also its a shame the pier has now become a no go for many old school anglers who
like my self used to love fishing there.

they do get told and have to obey or off simple as they just call harbour police if have problems and there like a dog with a bone they all no not to cause problems anyway there not that daft get odd one but most know they won't get back on again.
they have CCTV there also and monitored but not much point fluffing past the turret anyway

If it wasnt for the foreigners feathering mackerel in the summer the pier would allmost certainly close there for loosing one of the best winter cod marks in the country yeah theres alot of fluff chuckers on the first half so wot normally the best part of the pier is empty you just gota use your legs to find out

Fish the beaches, middle of the night - problem solved. Get to see a beautiful sunrise, nice temperature to fish in, not a Johnny Whatsit to be seen anywhere. Mind, I am retired so can do that, if you work for a living doing the 'right' thing as our Fuhrer Scameron dictates, then you won't be able to, unlike our guests & visitors from other dominions.

It,s alright for you youngsters to hike off down to the other end of the Addy but us old boys can't do that, not that I am complaining because I never liked the place from the first time I stepped foot on it.

I think the Addy is a place you either love or hate, and for those that like fishing it, then that is fair.
What is not fair is the fact it's made a hazardous zone for those that can not get to the other end and relegated to the first half.

can,t we say free breakwater for feathers take them out to atlantic and let them float to new pastures green. It can,t be illegal all other country,s do it, plus they can fish all day till land sighted for free can,t be bad. not been to addy in 10 years because of mackie bashers spoiling the day for others. I miss PoW since it closed it was good for us old ish geezers

Folkestone pier is open midweek only im pretty sure the fluff chuckers havent taken over it yet lol !!!
Im sorry to say id rather the fluff chuckers on the addy all summer because i know the cod fishing when you can have the place to your self far outweighs bottom fishing in the summer on the first half
Just my humble opinion

It's not the fluff chucking that is the problem, it's the uneducated toe rags that have no comprehension of safety towards themselves or others which is the problem.

No shock leaders, no Idea how to cast safely amongst other people, mackerel just lying up against the wall I could go on !!

They supposedly came from a war torn country, seems to me that's the sort of environment they thrive in, and are replicating it on the Addy

Sorry but I am with Kingfish 123 on this one.
Give them a boat and take the plug out

The only way forward is to make restrictions on the amount of mackerel you can kill, this was something that I read last year / year before where some piers have clamped down on the foreigners killing mackerel in large numbers. This is also policed by the staff that run the piers and from what I can remember it was the rubbish and human waste the foreigners were leaving behind that rules were enforced before the local authorities closed the piers to the public.

Trouble is if moan too much about Johnny foreigner and co with Fluff chucking etc end up having nothing as they'll shut the lot plus can now get onto inside of the arm for likes of OAP's etc/Possum91 to replace spots lost on Prince of wales expect if liners in parking also they said not sure when starting?

But Clive and co Have improved things on there always good to support them weekdays are best anyway if can go monday's pretty quiet!!! Fluff free?

Used to fish the "ADDY'' lots over the years. Summer for makkies and dabs. Winter for Cod. In the summer flattie fishing was always from the terminal to the first bend.

Not normally a problem during nightime but sometimes difficult when Mackeral fever took over during the daylight. Sadly there will always a problem once word has spread that (the fish are in) Drawing every other bloke and his dog to the hot venue. Cod fishing used to be good on the Addy if you understood how to fish it.

Just like uptiding from a boat is the best way to describe it Imho But no matter how many times you tried to explain the theory of uptiding etc To idiots who were swigging

Beer and/or smoking spliffs It all fell on deaf ears (mostly) and they carried on casting straight in front of them and snagging everyone when the inadequate tackle shifted
in the tide. This was all before we had our overseas fishermen who even less no speak the lingo So no chance of me visiting the Addy anytime soon .

Just as an aside I took my daughter down to the ferry terminal a couple of summers ago and looked at the addy.... 350 + rods in action All MAKKIE BASHING and cats and
Dogs walking along the wall. You could smell the urine a long way off.

Yea so very true Nick , just how I remembered it last, makes me feel sick apart from totally peeing me off,
I used to like fishing for the hounds and very good size bass in the summer and then the cod in the winter,

Now there ain't gonna be a cat in hells chance of me ever going back there now,

Probably is one of the main reasons why I've now been totally turned right off of fishing any pier's now, has got to the stage where they simply don't interest me no more

Totally ruined by sheer ignorance and divs

Before we bash our EU cousins too much, I've met and worked with quite a few really decent ones, I know some are unpleasant but we have our own home grown skanks too.
I fished Herne Bay at the weekend and behind me were three of our finest home grown scum. Kids out of control, screaming, throwing stones in front of me ( and yes I don't have any more entitlement to the beach than them) but the parents allowed them to carry on even while the beach was empty on other spaces as they drank their beer and smoked their splifs, then when one of the kids ball floated off on the outgoing tide they thought the fisherman might catch it for them. Yea right. ( because I caught one belonging to a nice couples kid earlier)
When they buggered off they left all their crap behind, beer tins, crate, barbecue, etc, one Dad even relieved himself against the wall even though the toilet was less than 100m away. The crap that blew on the beach I binned. Make me proud to be British..
Ps they were wearing expensive designer clothes, gorgeous fit girls, but mouths like fish wife's ...

Use to fish the pier religiously until about 5/6 years ago now only in winter because as said its bloody dangerous down there!
Also not my idea of a good day out listening to a load of foreigners shouting at each other (why do they shout and not talk?)
Any way solved that problem now and got myself a boat so my pier fishing days are over.

Do I need a passport or visa to get on it?'

You would of thought so hey Keith the way it's getting

At one time it was a very nice and comfortable pier to fish from amongst our own native freinds , a lot of the time I used to go just for the banter ;) because we was all the same and on the same wave length if you get me jist, proper good lol days :D

But now most of us are all made to feel like aliens as the lingo somehow ain't quite the same

All you get now is a strange/ ignorant and insulting look and the speech is just a mumbled grunt and .....ERH...... Highly interesting and intelligent talk........:p PMSL

Can't be doing with pier's like that nowadays ....shame really but if one is prepared to look in reality there are far better places that are equally as good ;)

All the best

All the piers reek of **** anyway, try to avoid if possible
Absolutely, totally agree, used to go on the POW aswell and the shelters there stunk of blimmin urine, not on atall really especially in the shelters, never did use em,
Nowadays I don't like the thought of being crammed up shoulder to shoulder on piers and is another reason why I don't fish em no more ;)

World Sea Forum should be renamed Moaners British Sea Forum – pretty much every day, there is a thread somewhere blaming foreigners for something…. Now they're taking too many Mackerel… WHAT A JOKE.

Same song every year…blah blah blah…GET A LIFE
