spot on you everyone just goes way over the top on hear and have spoilt the report with all there mumbo jumbo
I was going to keep stum and maybe I should  BUT

BASS reckon there are 350,000 bass anglers, if we all do five session only per year and take an average one 2lb fish on each session that equates to 3,500,000 lbs of fish or 1562.5 tons of bass. Go on any commercial site and you will see figures like this being used against us.
My post is not mumbo jumbo it is based on conservative figures already being used against us by commercials and DEFRA

Now I go bass fishing at least ten times per year average catch 2 fish per session of keep able size, now I happen to think that that is nearer the truth and then your looking at some serious tonnage.

Now we are talking currently shore fishing, if we take a look at boat fishing and we counted fifteen on the bank on Saturday say average of 6 persons per boat keeping three or four fish per person every Saturday and Sunday for let's say 12 weeks, each fish should average 2lb and we stick with only two fish each bearing in mind some will take a lot more. We now have 12x2x15x2x12weeks= 8640lb or 3.86tons.

I have known far more boats drift that one bank up to forty or so and we are talking just one mark.

I might not be the smartest one on the block but I ain't no idiot either, I am afraid the fact half a dozen of us blanked in Vic's appraisal has little bearing on the total, yes we do show on the scale of things, maybe only a little dent compared to the commercial effort but it is still a considerable amount of bass.

As I have already stated it is purely a matter of balance, I love a fresh caught bass and I see little harm in taking a few through the season, but I do remember at all times people are watching our every move looking for ways to curtail our sport.

We have enough problems with idiots leaving their rubbish behind and killing doggies just for the sake of it without adding further problems.

zzippy's new at sea fishing. just imagine how many zzippy will catch when he's been fishing for a while!
seriously though, i reckon he won't get anywhere as near as many as that in his future sessions. so i don't see this as an issue. but i will admit: i'm jealous. big deal.

as i said ken mumbo jumbo at the end of the day he caught the fish he kept them they were all sizeble what the hell are bringing all these statistics into it for if you have been around for so long you know there is more bass around now than ever around our coastline i agree with what your saying about boats to an extent but were talking about a beach angler that has had a good session why are boats being brought into it. anyway i think the mods should shut this now because the thread has been ruined

You have had the pleasure of me in the flesh so to speak  and if there is one thing you should have learnt I am far from being a winger.
Thats odd Ken, you look like you have a touch of the Shane Williamses in you :lmao:
Sorry, just trying to throw some humour into what is becoming an increasingly heated mix

Sorry guys but enough is enough on this thread. I am both saddened and sickened by some of the comments on here. The guy has had a cracking session, one he may never repeat and decided to keep the fish he caught, well within his rights to do so. For those that have moaned about it, read site rules again before commenting on other peoples posts. The rate some of you are going, there won't be any reports made on this site unless it's C&R.
