I look at it a bit different,we don't need to go out and buy a zziplex rod as there are loads of good rods out there that do a very good job.

I fish on my own so for me paying out for what I feel is a quality piece of equipment that could save my life is a no brainier...

Tried a few of the Cree lights of the bay great little lights for pottering about next to your tripod in safe conditions and terrain, but they don't cut it when walking up cliff pathways or rock ledges.

I have a Samalite led 600 had it two years with no issues what so ever and only ever needed it on the first setting tiny battery mine lasts about 14 hrs on the low setting, built by a British company so im happy to buy British.

Also had a pretzel ultra accu 2 probably the most comfortable headlamp in the world, but battery did not last a decent session especially in winter so sold on.

There are many to choose from and all have there place choose wisely and use the information on this site, its not all about cost something expensive does not guarantee quality, but it should last you until the end of many illuminating fishing sessions safely.

Hi, im sure one of the brightest is possibly the lupine betty R.
These also have large capacity smartcore batteries, so depending on output has potential to last days..

Ive the betty 12 and it lasts for days on my low settings. Ive set mine to two setting, but they can be programmed to suit your needs.

Great light , but at a price.. By far my most expensive part of my fishing kit.

However theres loads of good lights on the market, ive tried plenty.
But for now wont go past lupine with the 26 degree beam.

Mate check out headlamps from climbing shops. Black Diamond is a very good brand - used them for mountaineering up here in the Scottish Highlands in all conditions and being an ex member of Mountain Rescue - sometimes we would be out all night.
Very light and powerful for there size, batteries last a good time - depending on model - easily enough for a nights fishing.
Might be a bit more than you want to pay? Don't know but I really recommend them - saved my bacon a few times in horrendous conditions, in winter etc.

Thanks for the advice but the Betty is out of my price range sorry
Fenix hp11 or the led lender and just buy a battery charger and 2 sets of rechargeable batteries job done both of these headlamps will outlast any China rubbish

As said fenix lenzer h14 or Princeton Tec apex go for 1 that takes 4 aa batteries. 3 aaa won't last long enough I use the apex and 200 lm is more than enough for fishing I use it mostly on the lower setting take 2 sets of rechargeable and 1 set of batteries last 3 to 4 weeks and I fish every wk end and I wouldn't touch a Chinese lamp

Seems I am in the minority then. After playing with LED head lamps, I have gone back to a decent halogen lamp. Far superior than LED's, in my opinion.
yep !, ur in the minority shirl , :spiteful: , so am I though as with my cree I have always carried the little fox halo 135 , very bright and ultra reliable and the batts last a looong time , looks like it will become my main light once again with the battery eating cree left at home

Crees do eat battery power you definitely need a back up in the box or you may find you end up with a ruined session!
