Hi all, no it was not the spit it was in-between Cardiff barrage and penarth pier. I'm sure they were fine, on my way home past penarth pier the coast guard were watching from the shore keeping an eye on things .

 

It is the wrach channel off penarth head it happens all the time

 

If you are going to be grounded pick a spot like that, they couldn't have picked a better bottom! if they had a ball they could have played football waiting for the tide to come in!
