Fished the down for a few hours Saturday to use up some bait left over from Friday. Fished one rod at range with whole squid and rag for rays and one close in on rag for bass. First cast on the ray rod produced a 5lb bass, also managed 4 straps on this rod between about 3 and 7lb. Nothing on the close in rod but did lose 2 good fish, first one just came adrift after a bit and felt like a good bass, second one straightened the hook (only using a size 2) and felt like an eel. No rays for a change even though tide and conditions looked perfect.

Alright lads,

Fished Brean Down Yesterday with Aspargo caught my first conger , managed to get it to the surface before it snapped my line Aspargo had a bite but snapped him off before he could get it to the surface & had another not long after which got to the surface but then bent his hook straight!!

Will definitely be going again.

take a chill pill.
i dont see a problem with people pm'ing other people for advice on where to fish, we are all here to help and learn from each other, whats the deal!
There is no problem with people pm'ing each other, if you look at the first few posts you'll see I have pm'd info to a couple of people and I'm always happy to give out help on my local marks as people on this site will testify. My concern was with people pm'ing on behalf of my thread, the down can be a lethal place especially in the wet and I don't want to be guilty by association. I've seen some awful advice given out about the place before. I also agree with Sgt Rocks comments, there is no substitute for going out and learning a mark by fishing it.
It's entirely up to me to decide who I do and don't give out advice to and if people are going to get daft I'll simply stop posting up reports. Now can we let this thread die please, it was simply a catch report and not even a spectacular one at that.

Cheers
Tipper
