:) I write with my left hand, hold a knife and fork as right handed, shoot a rifle and shot gun left handed, ambidextrous with a pistol, wind a F/S with my right hand as I do with a multiplier. I put it down to writing with my left hand but my teachers trying to make me write with my right hand by rapping my knuckles with a ruler if they caught me writing with my left hand. :(
Tell the truth Norm you just loved being Spanked!:whistling::wink:

When I had my old Penn Sea boy, it felt very odd for me to hold the rod with my left and wind with my right. Guess I’m gonna have to look for a left handed multiplier then.

Why? everyone i know that is right handed all hold the rod in there left hand and wind with right with multiplier and with a grinder other way round.
Left handed people are menat to do it opposite way round hence why few left handed reels!
I'm left handed but fish right handed.
Have a friend thats right handed and fishes cack handed! with grinder rods on right and handles on right side then wonders why can't catch when float fishing!

I know one of those! Right handed but tries to wind a mangle in with right hand too.

It’s painful watching him struggle to bring in a fish and he’s always getting snagged up because he doesn’t bring the gear in quick enough...

I guess from previous experience and after 40 years of reeling in with my left hand it would just feel awkward. Plus I’d be casting using my right thumb to slow the spool ( if that’s what you still have to do with these reels now fitted with a mag breaking system ?) and then having to swap it over to wind down and tighten the line etc. Perhaps I’m just an odd one out but that’s just how I feel about it. All food for thought though. Thanks again for your comments, it’s all very helpful.

I just do all that as easily as breathing but as has been said, it’s all down to what you’re used to, I guess...

I was just shown (told) at quite a young age so that’s what I’ve always done

Hello m8, ta 4 the info. Unfortunately I don’t have anyone local to me to try out their multiplier. I did think about going down the 2nd hand route it does make a lot of sense.
Can I ask why you don’t recommend using a level wind? TBH I didn’t fancy the extra work of having to lay the line on the reel when retrieving, that’s why I was thinking of getting one that already does it for you! Lol
Hi Darin,
What type of rod are you wanting the multiplier for.. you could try out some of mine if you wish. Penn 525, 515, Diawa Saltist BG 20, 6HT ST, etc.
I'm not far from you (BS) and we met previously when I took some rag off your hands you couldn't use up.
Regards
Iain
