Hello All, Does anyone know of any codling being caught off Seaford beach? If so where would be a good mark and what time of tide is best? I'm new to beach fishing and will be travelling from Cambridgeshire so a trip that is worthwhile would be good. I grew up in the area so would recognise most marks. Any advice appreciated. Regards, Col.

I have caught a few between the Groyne and the Martello tower, but i believe they have randomly been caught along the three major marks but not consistently.

Sorry i am a bit vague but it is hit and miss at the moment at Seaford

I've caught and/or witnessed around 10 caught at Seaford over last season and this and all were either over the low tide (1-2 hour after low has been best for me) or 1 hour either side of high. I've caught opposite the martello tower, at Edinburgh Rd and at further west at Claremont Rd so I don't think there's any paricular hotspot.

If you are planning on going then I'd do it very soon (Monday night (tomorrow) looks best) as the water will be clearing with the norherly winds this week. Also number thinned out last year once we got into November.

Big bait containing lug & squid has been successful for me. I'd try to get both blow and black lug and mix them on the bait.
