Gary. That's a cracking DIY job, amazing transformation,,, it's very simmilar to last one we done on the water for a. Client

Done a few or these my self over the years my self, it ups the value of any craft and at such little expense it's the labour that you save on doing it your self,,
DIY job lol, oh mate, his boat building skills are highly sought after, check his thread, and then I think you will change your "DIY" bit......not a dig mate, just making you aware if you didn't know already.

its easy to do.

just mask off area you want to non slip and then key it up really well before applying your non slip.

i make up my own non slip.

choose what ever colour gelcoat you want to use and add wax solution to it to make it a flowcoat and then add kiln dried sand and mix it in.

i add roughly 1 pint of sand to 1 kg of flowcoat.

i use a sieve to get any large bits of sand out as it gives a better finish.

when applying it i go round the edge first and then peel the tape off and then do the rest.

you must peel the tape off as you go otherwise if the gel starts to cure you won't be able to remove the tape without making a mess of it.

Who do you guys recommend that can professionally redo my deck with flowcoat in Brighton, with the boat on its mooring. Assuming Brightons out of your local range Garry?

Thinking Royal/navy blue flow coat with white borders. And thinking asap..

Or who's redone their decks in the new hard wearing rubbery-plastic faux teak decking. Saw this at the boat show. Circa ÂŁ120/sq meter for the material alone.
