I fished Aberafan Saturday afternoon from low to high, used 2 rods tried one close in and one out a bit deeper.
Bait used maddies, rag, Lug and mackerel on a 3 hook flapper and other a 2 up 1 down, all hooks had plenty of bling.
I was encouraged by catching a 13 1/2" flattie first cast on maddies but then nothing for about 2 hours then I caught a postage stamp turbo on rag, I thought to myself "where's your mama gone" and I had to wait long 4 hours until dusk before I had another bite and it absolutely hammered down with rain but it was worth it as it went a bit mad for an hour where I caught another 9 fish all flatties, including 2 doubles and a treble all caught on maddies except for the dab was caught on lug.
I got a good soaking but enjoyed the session it was good to be out and caught a few different species
There were a couple of keepers amongst them but decided to put all fish back.
