i know this firm gets a bit of a kicking some times on this forum but i give them a bell on monday at 3 30 pm for a rod a reel and aflotation suit they were at my door lunch time today less than 24 hours so i think that is a well done to them first class service

Ordered bits and bobs from them on sunday and mine hasnt arrived yet and i only live about an hour and halfs drive away!!

Thats only 2 days so im not bothered but, it does seem weird that you have yours in less than 24hrs to wales! wonder if folk get special treatment if they spend more..? (unless they have all different postage deals)

Have used them half a dozen times.
One good, five bad.
Ordered rods and reels, only sent reels and "sorry rods out of stock, not re-ordering" they sent two reels, when I questioned the whereabouts of the third, oops mistake, then they charged more p+p total 5 weeks to get half what I ordered.
Not going back.

I have bought quite a few bits and pieces from them over the years, bought a new Floaty suit in May from them like Taff's suit it arrived the next day :clap3: to be honest I cant fault them so far all stuff I have ordered has been next day or day after :)

Posts: 91 I'm never using GAC again, just ordered a rod from them, it took 4 days to arrive and had a big chip in the blank - and they had coloured it in with black marker pen to disguise it!
They sent out a replacement and it too was scratched and chipped.

I contacted Penn earlier this year because I was struggling to find a Pit Viper. Penn gave me a contact at Glasgow AC, och aye, we've got a Pit Viper, £195 to you. Er, Veals have just sold out at £125! Oh? Well our's are still £195, do you want it?

Give me Veals or Gerry's any day.
I use GAC regularly for Mail Order and usually check the web for prices. Have always got price matching when asked. (I think this does not apply for in store purchases (but then other non fishing stores will not price match (for in-store purchases) a shop 100mls away either). Naturally the item must be in stock at the other store to qualify for the Price Match!

Have never actually visited the Store in Glasgow personally, but am perfectly satisfied with the Mail Order Service.

I have had a mixed experience of them. A couple of orders have taken up to 2 weeks and yet others have arrived in less than 24 hours. I think it may be down to whether something is in stock or not. I wish they would just tell you at the time of ordering then at least you could order elsewhere if you wanted.

The GAC website now has an option to check stock levels for each item I believe. I would agree that sometimes a temporary lack of stock can delay deliveries, though it seems less of a problem now than previously (especially Mustad gear, which was responsible for many a long wait!!).

Excl VAT - that is one thing that really bugs me, like you say you think you got a good deal then its like blimey, might as well spend a few more quid and drive to a local shop
