Hiya just a quick report,

Fished Hythe opposite the petrol station last night. Fished from 8:15pm-1:30, high being about 12;15, and didn't really have much luck. Tried pulley pennels with whole squid for the majority of the time (it was a last minute decision so fisherman333 helped me out with some bait) but it was really dead. Tried varying distances, all to no avail. Quite a few times I reeled in to find my bait completely untouched, which was strange due to all of the whiting that are known from Hythe beach. The weather was not too bad actually, and about 7mph wind so very calm (probably a bit too calm for the codling me thinks).

Fisherman333 had a couple of whiting and a dogfish to show. Alas no codling either. Still better luck next time i guess :sneaky2:

Hard luck mate, but it doesn't have to be rough for cod, my biggest ever was on a calm night.
It is strange that no whiting at least were caught. That's fishing I suppose, perhaps a couple of seals were patrolling along the coast, plenty of them there. Iv'e seen them 10yds offshore some early mornings, then you realise why you didn't catch anything!
