Isome and angle worms.

These two types of bio degradable soft worm imitations can produce instant fish catching action and are great especially for beginners to get into the swing of things.
There are many ways to fish them.

I favour drop shot methods but still do mount them on a small jig head.

What do you do and what can you recommend ?

I'm with Lee. These products are practically bait. If you're not getting bites there are no fish there basically. If you ask me more and more soft plastics are using these types of additives now. Not a bad thing but it makes me laugh when lure only anglers become reliant on them whilst looking down their noses at bait anglers. Some of them use nothing else the majority of the time.

just back from a week in Lanzarotte, spent some time on LRF there and struggled with most things so popped on angle worm and bam into the gobbies, swapped for some and again straight in. if had to choose one it would be the isome, i just find it slightly more versatile

I think medium or large are the best all rounders but I'd imagine it's down to personal preference mate.

Colour wise, red or brown have been most successful for me but I don't know how much difference colour really makes with stuff like Isome.

I personally like the pink colour.

What would you use for tiny species? I'm trying to hook very small gobies in rocky shallows. I'm getting plenty of bites but failing to hook up. I've been using natural baits - tiny pieces of mussel, squid tentacle and rag worm on size 14 & 18 barbed coarse fishing hooks. Would artificals present better and maybe be more secure and not mask the hook point? Or are barbless hooks a better option?
I've looked at the Isome and I guess just using the end of the tail may work for the really tiny fish of around 2-3 inches.

Try the really small isome worms and use a small section on a little #14-#16 hook.
Section could be 5mm or smaller.

Always barbless for me and have been for over 30 years.
Thank you. I always use them when coarse fishing. Are there any favourite patterns or brands for LRF. I've got Kamasan B980's and B911's, but will look for something finer.
I've ordered some small Isome and also got some squiggly wiggly coming. Need to get a small landing net too......
Thanks for the advice. Hoping to get out in the shallows and rocks again next week.
