I won one of our club matches from there! some good sport to be had in there when there's nowhere else to fish. I know there's a security guard on there now who aparently doesn't let ya fish, suppose it's just pot luck if he comes over!

Ask him under what laws or authority he has to stop you and where the signs are informing you its not allowed and them tell him to get lost or you will call the police.

Its like those ' No Ball Games Allowed ' signs totally unenforceable under the law that local authorities like to put up to make you think you are breaking some law..

The only issue you'd have off Jacksons Landing is that its private property. So in theory if they dont like you fishing off there, they can boot you off.

hi there
i know quite a few boat owners, who have no problems with kids fishing in the marina, was there myself for over 10 years.
there is also quite a few older anglers like myself who fish it, me myself off the old tub.
what we do not like is them casting 6 ounce leads into the marina at full force, i and many boat owners have found many a lead on the boats, and some have had damage (fact)
there was a lad who has now moved from the marina, for having a quite word with a couple of kids, only to be told to f$$k off, or they would smash all his windows, he only told them not to cast there leads nexr his boat, the spot near the wingfield castle, and around there are perfect, so why near boats.
its alright saying just dropping a line over the side, but these would be world casting champions, think other wise.
a 6 ounce lead at full tilt, can make quite a dent in a very expensive boat, or person as many people live on there pride and joy.
regards

Have been told there has been some decent fish took out of there, 9 lb cod was the heaviest. Fished it once with my nephew down near Jacksons Wharf and then around by the Old West Quay. Didn't get a bite but the lager was nice. I know the divers use the area a lot, was drinking outside the Old West Quay August 06, a lad diving brought up a lobster about six and a half pound. Might give it another shot with some light tackle.

hi
seen some cracking fish off the walk way do not forget the trawlers, and pleasure boats gut, and clean the fish and disgard the filleted bodies of fish in the marina.
plenty for the fish to thrive, and the lobsters and crabs are well fed, they also have eel traps and again some cracking eels.

Basically its the Marina at Hartlepool. Jacksons Landing is the empty shopping complex in the middle of it. It has a footpath all the way around it which would allow fishing staright into the marina. I have often wondered if any fish are in the marina and I might be tempted to have a bash now.
