Hi folks, halfway thru an 8 week trip and missing getting out fishing, but my job does allow me to see a few wonderous things fish wise around our coasts.

Filmed this ling catching and eating a coalie under one of the Ninian Platforms a couple of weeks ago and this is the first chance I have had to share it as we have berthed in Lerwick for a couple of hrs.

Can only guess-timate the sizes but these boys do grow to a fair old size under the rigs. This one would have had you breathing out your other end by the time it came to surface!!!

Not really angling related, just thought some of you may be interested, I may blank with the rods but I enjoy seeing natures aquatic beasties getting on with life.

I work with ROV's incase some think I was down there myself filming!! Nae chance.

Not sure which section to post in Mods, apols, and if you feel it should be removed, please do so and no offence will be taken, getting a bit frustrated of lack of catching reports from me but thought this may contribute a bit to the forum.

Cheers

Aye if only, but at close to a 7 digit cost and a combined kit weight of close to 20 ton, I don,t think I,d be allowed!!!

Nearly every wee corner from 40m down had its own wee resident Torsk Davy, stunning colours on them with irridescant vertical bars along the flanks.

Cheers for the comments guys

Hi Lewis, the vessel is called the "Deep Endeavour", normally working across the pond in Mexico and Brazil, so she's not a regular visitor to Lerwick. Due back alongside around the 4th for a crew change. Only on contract to the company I work for short term.

Cheers for the comments folks, much appreciated.
