set off for a mark last night weather excellent plenty of bait and high hopes,got there couldnt have been any better perhaps a little more swell but nevertheless good conditions.an hour and a half after starting fishing without a bite i thought not again my bad luck is going to continue and after bragging to my mate that we would have fish here tonight making up as many excuses as i could lol.Then the night changed we started off having a few dogs i lost a conger and also dropped what we think was a good huss, as i then put the rod in the rest to rebait my second rod started banging like **** picked it up hello huss on ,what happened next could only happen to me, after a good little scrap and the fish about 15 yards from the shore it went ballistic all sorts of thoughts going through my mind not a huss, big conger maybe a tope ,it was robbing line off my reel like the mrs in the wallet .After about 50 yards it stopped i tried to retrieve and thought i aint getting this in then out at sea with our headlamps we could see a seal on top of the water with my bloody huss hanging out of his chops, i didnt know wether to laugh or cry the robbing b*****d, next thing the line went slack and he was gone i thought my luck .anyways rebaited up both rods and out they went sat down just about to have a coffee when i noticed a little tap tap on one of the rods tap tap pull tap tap pull i sat there thinking go on 1 positive pull and i,ll have you the rod sprung up slack line retrieved the slack solid not againgave it some slack and put it back in the stand just about to sit down the other rod gave me the slightest off taps and a good pulldown i thought not this time mate and hit it the rod buckled over but it was coming got yu .after 15 minutes of pumping and pulling it appeared on top of the water about 40 yards out conger and wot a fish now i was bricking it if i lost this one the gear was going in i managed to get him to the rocks my buddy jumped down and after 5 minutes off playing him against the swells he managed to get him on to the rocks after another few minutes of him trying to wrestle him up the rocks i threw him a towel he got it round him and with me holding the leader he managed to get him up to the top big thanks kevo mate.after giving myself 5 minutes to let the old ticker settle down we managed to get him onto the scales he span the scales around to 26lb 4ozs my best ever shore caught fish ,after a few pics which i will put on later we released him back to the wilderness my mate kev then dropped a huss right below us and a few more dogs it was time to go all in all my best nights fishing for years with good company once again cheers kev
