Good morning Glyn (Tamlyn),

A very encouraging capture and inspiring to see it taken on a fly! It looks in very good condition, any idea of the size, not that that matters, it is all down to the performance of the fish on straight through tackle. Never mastered the art of fly casting sea or fresh water much to my regret, but I do like to share in the enjoyment of others who are skilled in this art. Well done, excellent pictures!

Hi derek,thanks for your comments,i wanted the fish returned asap so it wasn,t weighed,but i would say it was over 4lbs.

Well done, it looks like a GG as it has a yellow spot on the top photo, did it fight well ?

 

Magnificent fight,got him to the net twice,you think job done then the reel screams as off he goes again,on par,if not better than a salmon.

 

Well done I'm still trying for a grey on the fly and great to hear that the shrimp pattern works! John

 

is there any bass running up the river at the moment

 

Quite a number being caught up as far as the town center,mudworm best.

 

would there be any parking along the the river i notice there is a lay by down by the council offices in the ferry but i think only for 2 hrs also is there parking under the old ferry bridge jersey marine side and then walk up towards wards or down river, havent been there for years

 

Pass the layby(going towards aberavon)there are turnings on your right some of which don,t have yellow lines.Further up river the melin area or millands industrial estate area.Below the council offices crabs galore,the higher up he river you go the thinner the crab population gets.
