I drive past on my way up to loch long. its been blocked off as you said because of issues with rubbish and i believe loose line on the inside side of the marina. was actually thinking of trying rhu point or bowling tomorrow but havnt seen any recent reports?

 

I was down at old kilpatrick fishing today and had countless codling and haddock around the pound mark. Also had a few small flounders

 

Bowling is not too bad if you want to catch anything large enough to be measured by your palm.
Rhu point is a mark that all i seem to see there is sea trout,and active one's at that.
But i know that area is watched by the fish police looking for permits so be weary of that when/if fishing there...

 

ive fished rhu before but only had mackeral, never had sea trout but i would catch and release anyway so permits wouldnt be an issue

Every access will eventually be blocked off in Scotland , and the reason is rubbish ! You dump your rubbish ,and the local ,land owner don't like it .Either you clean your act now or you will have less access ! it is so simple .Your choice . Rubbish fishers shall not fish !

 

I dont see how they can block it off personally, someone will move the fence. The joys of being in Scotland - no trepassing laws!

I do agree that it just needs some common sense, unfortunately it attracts the idiots who will go down and litter the place with tennents cans and feather packets.

if people keep posting pictures video on this site of where they are getting good fishing then its only natural for person to descend on that area and fish it out .some people may cause problems and then it gets closed off by insular locals .

Fishing will certainly improve without the litter louts ! Without pictures ,interesting video and inspiration this site would be dead !
