Fished 18th-28th of June

It blew a gale every single day for 24hrs from the north-north east so fishing was hard with white water and rollers every day.

In our group we are all boat owners on the north east coast so used to bad weather and understand when to call it a day..we fished every day as Sandland lets you but only managed 2 days out the fjord where the big fish are.

Round up worst weather you could think of gales, sleet and rain

Loads of cod with 70-100 between 20-42lb

About 18 halibuts between 12lb and 47lb

Some coalies with the ebst 9lb

Haddock mid water upto 10lb

Wolfs and torsk to 12lb

Shads, pirks and "dead" baits work best.

Booking up for next year as cant be any worse weather wise after 3 years of being lucky and flat seas :)

No never got my 40, only 2x 40s caught and not by me but i beat my pb cod twice in two days with 31lb then 32lb cod ha, i had cod in the high 20s every day but because we could not get out the fjord it was hard going.

I was disapointed mine to see Norway has changed the rules and can now use nets, not trawlers but nets, one of the days we got out the fjord we headed straight for west loppa at Loppbean and it was netted out...we thought long lines until we seen them pull it in..spoke to the host and he confirmed it is now ok to net for locals.

best day was over 1000s of cod and over 100lb of halibut, worst day less than 50lb of cod and a few worf fish...sea was rough or very rough every single day 24hrs a day ha

we had all our butts on sidewinder shads in 50-60m of water not far from the harbour due to the weather.

Best cod on "dead" coalies and quick drop pirks but tbh if i was not in Norway and fishing from my boat in the NE coast, i would of gone to sea maybe 2 days off that week it was that windy and rough ha.

Still cant wait for next ear and the camp n owner was great in every way as always.
