Got to the beach about 10 am Sunday morning, there were a few set up at the slipway so I walked further south and pitched up halfway between the slip and the 10th green.
First rod was baited with a chunk of herring on an up n over and blasted to the horizon (well about 100yds cos that's about my limit!! Lol) and I started setting up my second rod. Almost straight away I clocked the 1st one disappearing off uptide, slightly stunned I grabbed hold of it and stated to wind. I could feel a bit of weight but not a huge pull, maybe a small male I thought! ......nope. A dog.
Unhooked it and cast back out again to continue set up on the second rod. Just as I cast that out, same again, the 1st one was making its way off. Exactly the same senario and a second dog was landed.
Then two hours passed and high tide came and went. Then two more hours at which point a third doggie entered the fray then another two hours and by 4pm I was thoroughly pi$$€d off and went home.
One of these days I'll get it right!! Might try a night tide up there tonight (Monday) ....or I'll take up golf!!!

Warden bay at the end of sea defence towards pill boxes and cast along the side of mixed rough ground/mussel beds, go carefull if fishing big tides as high water could cut you off at bottom of cliffs which are constantly eroding.

Advice would be stay in doors with the weather that's forecast. I thought of doing the same thing but very strong easterlies turning SE around 2am ish which is around the high tide time tonight and a lot of rain, which means I will be sitting at home dreaming of rays rather than fishing for rays.

Where would you go then Ash? ....if you were gonna that is!!

IF I was going to go anywhere I would go to herne bay and set up before high tide (which if the weather man is correct should make the sea very lumpy) and fish 3 hours of the ebb. The easterly should have swung round to a SE so should be bit off your back by then and kings hall produces fish up to 3 hours after high. I have had a few from kings hall this year, mostly on the ebb including two 3hrs after high which surprised me after hearing about times to fish there

Hard luck Ben, keep trying mate.

Personally golfing in a strong wind is pretty much a no go as well, lol. Did find a Titleist PRO V1 ball on the way back to the car last night if your interested I'll swop it for some weights, lol.
