Just got back from a 6 day stint at Dungeness and all I can say is brilliant if you like whiting of any size from tiny to monsters but at the moment there is little else there, that is at least as I experienced it. Someone is bound on come on here and say they have been catching cod which is what I was searching for, but for me it wasn't the case. Plenty of good bait, plenty of coloured water, plenty of wind albeit easterly, plenty of sunshine and plenty of anglers some of whom were getting right on my nerves by insisting in setting their camps within a few foot of mine. Nevertheless an enjoyable trip and good to bump into Captin and his mate.

Well done for putting the hours in! I wonder what you might have turned up in your home county on the 18 spacious miles of Chesil if you'd have put as much time in there. Sadly a lot of anglers can't be bothered to walk a few extra yards to give themselves and neighbouring anglers an easier time. I can only imagine they are fresh off of fishing a pond where swims are 5 yards apart.
Its a shame about the Easterly, it always puts the cod off and tends to send them round into the east bay where they feed beyond casting range unless its spring tides at HW.
Well tried i thought 7 days on the lake was a long time but 7 days at dungie in them winds :cold::cold::clap3::clap3::fishing1:
Well done on the long stay and it was a pleasure to meet you down there, I was the one that was fishing with Captin. Perhaps we can meet again down there when the fishing is a bit better later in the cod season.:victory::victory::victory:
Hi BH12neil, Thats a long ol' stint you did there mate, shame you didnt get any coddies, but thats fishing for you. You always get tw*ts who want to 'fish in your pocket', i think they frightened of the dark, and in daylight they just being an ar*e. Glad you enjoyed yourself though, 6 days at Dunge is a good 'holiday' in my book.
PS I did Dunge last night (9pm till 2am) a bit blustery, big surf running, was the only person fishing along the boats area, could see one other person on the point. Was not plagued by small whiting. Had 3 dogs, some BIG whiting, oh, and a 3lb Codling. All to big blow lug baits.

6 days!!!! Must have been a hell of a row with the missus. Unlucky on the no cod and well done on the cod kingRocker. I'll be there tonight but targeting the bass.

you are a hero for sticking it out for 6 days as others have said and reading the reports from the southern section there seems to be more codling down south than in kent and essex :laugh:
i will go as far as to say the fishing generally in kent and essex now seems to be rubbish compared with further down the coast :shutup: now i just cant understand why:wacko:

6 DAYS???? u must be mad m8, massive effort for little reward, give it a month n do the same, may well see a different outcome..........10 outa 10 for effort tho, cant knock that at all, better luck n a few coddies next time!
Yes, you can say that again. Even on the 18 miles of Chesil Beach on Saturday night I left a good 40 yd gap between the next guy and myself (it was rather busy), but two guys still went in the gap with two rods each. Oh well, they did provide some entertainment as they kept cracking off on the cast.
