hi all
Ive thought about this for many years but ive never actually made a rig which incorporates a starlite.now my question is has anyone on the forum here tried this and if so did it make any difference on catches etc.my reason for posting this topic was ive just read another post on luminus beads now for me a starlite attached close to the hook via float rubber or anyway which fixes the starlite close to the hook has to have the upperhand on a few glowing beads.for me my thoughts would be to use a starlite during a night tide so it works its best also it may also help viewing where your casting as its bound to show its glow once launched into the air.please leave a post on your views on my starlite rig good or bad im happy to hear both sides.:punk:

Hi Fish hunter,
using a starlite as an attracter is a very interesting subject. i tried it many years ago, and to be fair, i certainly didnt catch any less when using it, but on the other hand, i dont think i did any better (hard to decide). I also have been considering trying it again, only this time, rather than 'banding' a small starlite to the hooklength, i have another idea.
Go into any 'pound/99p shop' and get some of the kids 'Glowlite bracelet kits', you get several 'large lites' @ 1" by half inch', and they have a hole through the center. Thead one onto your rig body before tying on the lead link, with a 'stop' above the glowlite to hold it close to the link. Its aero dynamic and very bright. This method (if it does work?) will attract fish to the general area of your bait. Its certainly worth a go, and as you say, you can see where your cast is going. It'll look like a 'tracer bullet'. You get a mixture of colours in the pack.
If you catch while using the starlite, it will at least prove that the fish is not put off by them. Only you can decide if your catch rate increases. It comes down to if you are confident or not. Its the same as beads or no beads.
hope this helps
Regards
Billy.

thanks for your reply codfather out of interest do you have any pictures of your starlite rigs mate.
Tried it a few times for Black Bream not a lot of difference for the Bream but the Wrasse go mad for the baits when I have used it in deeper water 30/40ft
