Did not see a dedicated tackle shop in Portree,there is a fresh fish shop on the pier head, blueys may be a problem.

 

I would take everything you need with you or pick it up on the way.

 

Depends where your fishing Ade. Excellent well stocked gun and tackle shop in Dunvegan. Not sure how they are for bait but the owner fishes with pictures of Pollock to 14lb caught from the shore last year.

im going to be near the harbour but will probably travel a bit further round tho ive never been skye before

 

There is a tackle shop in Portree about a minutes walk from the harbour, if a remember correctly it is next to bike shop ?

 

The cycle hire shop also stocks fishing tackle and some frozen bait, but it's probably best to give the guy a phone before you leave to find out what he has in stock.

I go up every year and he has always had frozen mackies in. A lot of the islanders fish so he seems to have a good customer base on the island. He is the cycle shop, so you need to go in to the cycle shop to get to the fishing stuff.

 

why not get a delivery from baits direct , for the day before you go, well packed and the price is ok, could stick the lot in freezer,then repack when your going to leave, 2 blueys pack £1.75 hard to beat, even with £7 delivery, if your buying a fair amount its as cheap as you'll get.
